You Can Never Hold Back Spring

I recently reconnected with a great friend.  We met in high school and became inseparable during our college years.  When I think about the crucial moments of my life, she was there.  As happens in life, we lost touch over a few years.  But the magic of the internet recently brought us back together.  And it's amazing how we have fallen back into our friendship.

One of the (many) things I adore about her is her ability to put music together.  Back in the day, we traded mix tapes.  Now we have graduated to CD compilations.  She took a seasonal theme with her latest, inspired by the spring.  I just have to share it.

So here is the perfect soundtrack to the beginning of the season

  1. "If I Ever Feel Better" - Phoenix
  2. "Apartment Song" - The National
  3. "Spring Provides" - Matt Pond PA
  4. "Planting Seeds" - Built to Spill
  5. "Two Ways" - The 1900's
  6. "I Feel It All" - Feist
  7. "You R Loved" - Victoria Williams
  8. "The Hideout" - Sarah Harmer
  9. "Twisting By The Pool" - Dire Straits
  10. "2 Kool 2 Be 4-Gotten" - Lucinda Williams
  11. "Empty Baseball Park" - Whiskeytown
  12. "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself" - The White Stripes
  13. "When My Baby's Beside Me" - Big Star
  14. "Girl" - Beck
  15. "You Can Never Hold Back Spring" - Tom Waits
  16. "Al Green" - Clem Snide
  17. "Dirt to Mud" - Paul Westerberg
  18. "From the Morning" - Nick Drake
  19. "First Light of Spring" - Luka Bloom
  20. "A New Day" - Mary Margaret O'Hara
  21. "All The Wine" - The National
  22. "What A Wonderful World" - Joey Ramone

Enjoy!

Aw, what a sweet thing! Thanks! Bill always gets a kick out of the fact that we are always swapping mixes. I'm so glad to have you back in my life to share music and so much else with! O<
