Miami Sunset

I've been having a lot of fun sewing buildings and city skylines.  They have a lot in common, the buildings and these needlework painting.  With both, when seen at a distance they seem impressive (if I do say so myself), but as you get closer the details reveal themselves.  These are the attributes of Impression I learned way back in my high school art class; it's nice to realize how those lessons still have an impact.

This is the first time I have worked with someone else's photo.  My ever-supportive husband came back from a business trip excited about the photos he took.  This one, he pointed out, would make a nice needlepoint.  So now it's complete in time for his birthday.  It seems perfect that my first collaboration would be with my husband.

You see the original photo below.

What a gorgeous collaboration. An evocative photograph and a beautiful interpretation. I'm sure he will treasure it.

this looks amazing. I was fortunate enough to go to Miami a couple of years back.
