A Little Something for Myself

Very rarely do I keep anything for myself.  I love everything I make and am proud of it.  I just always feel that it belongs to someone else.  It's a token of affection or the physical representation of a positive thought that I would like to pass along to someone else.  Also, there's the ego boost of having someone else really like something you've created.

I've been sitting on these beads for some time now.  I bought them in Chinatown, and I believe they came as ready-made bracelets.  The like beads were stranded together and though cool I knew I could make something better out of them.  Over the years I've tried several different designs.  They were most recently a necklace.  But it just didn't feel right.  Finally, I thought they would be happiest back in their bracelet forms, but together.

These beads are unique because one side shows a landscape and the reverse contains Chinese characters.  I have no idea what they say, it could be gibberish.  That's a question for the in-laws.
