Winter Roofs Holiday Card
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 9:22AM Some of my favorite photos are completely unplanned. For this reason, I love digital photography. Whereas with film, I had to worry about how many pictures were left on a roll and then wait for them to be developed, digital photography offers such instant gratification. It encourages me to take more risks.
I’ve been in love with my neighborhood since moving here four years ago. To me, it offers the best of both worlds. The people are friendly and ethnically diverse. The shops are close by and provide an array of fresh produce. And the architecture is charming. Yep, charming.
This end of Brooklyn is comprised mostly of homes (whereas in other areas of Brooklyn brownstones and row houses dominate). It feels “old school” Brooklyn, still retaining character not erased by gentrification. It’s quiet, yet cosmopolitan and feels like home.
So when I was making holiday cards this year, an image of my quiet little neighborhood caught amidst the winter wonderland seemed ideal.
You can find this card on Etsy.
