Getting the Ball Rollling

After a couple months of gathering information, spending time on my creative projects, meeting with friends and networking I felt that I was ready to start thinking about my business. Stepping back and looking at the past couple of months, I really had accomplished a lot.  My life was much more stable and fulfilling, I had dome some traveling and through that received new creative inspiration,  this inspiration led me to complete 3 new needlework pieces (which I'm utterly proud of).  I was still working out the routine and how to get everything done, but the days were happy ones.

Visiting my sister in Wisconsin was a wonderful opportunity to find new inspiration and materials.  It was September, she was planned to make some of her holiday gifts and is always smart enough to get an early start.  I decided that upon return, I was going to start thinking about my holiday inventory as well.  Because I love making jewelry and working with my hands, my latest works are always around.  This was going to be my first foray into selling.

For years, since college I've been creating hand-made gifts.  First, out of poverty and necessity I made Christmas gifts.  As years progressed I realised that people enjoy a gift that is personal, unique and requires thought.  Not a fan of the mall, I also found I enjoy making gifts more than shopping for them.  People have been wearing my creations for years.  But these had always been gifts.  Now I was going to put a monetary worth on them.

Looking around her home I saw my handicraft gifts from over the years.  Seeing them in new settings renewed my vigor and by journey's end I had collections in mind and new jewelry to present.
